Captain Black CDS 2007 KWPN stallion 16.3hh
Painted Black (Gribaldi) x Hamlet (Nimmerdor) x Afrikaner xx
A rare opportunity to purchase a stunning 3 yr old black stallion by Anky Van Grusven’s world class winning dressage stallion “Painted Black”, Gribaldi is not only the sire Painted Black but also THE horse of the moment “Moorlands Totilas” to whom Captain is very closely related sharing the same dam lines (Nimmerdor).
He has superb uphill, ground covering & elevated paces and in particular an extravagent walk with at least a foot overtrack when he is just mooching about!! He has fabulous sweet & laid back temprement, good straight conformation & clean x-rays (done in UK). He also comes with a full 5 stage vetting carried out in April for the AES grading of which he has been invited to return in November. This young man really is THE total package and would suit a professional or amataur keen on going to the top with style! Not only is he just gorgeous to look at but to handle in everyway.
This young man is a dressage star in the making and a special home is required so he can reach his full potential, serious enquiries only please (although he is priced to sell).
A video is available on request.
Sire -- Painted Black
Painted Black is noted as one of the most successful dressage stallions within Dutch breeding. He is fully licensed by the KWPN after his competition success and having produced an approved collection of well-developed youngsters.
Currently competing under Anky van Grunsven he is in great demand throughout the world as a top sire. He has been selected alongside his Sire, Gribaldi to join the Dutch A-Squad. His current high demand, success and reputation are set to soar in the next few years as he works to Grand prix level.
As a five and six year old, Painted Black was selected to compete at the World Championships for young horses in Verden representing Holland. At these championships (aged six) Painted Black under Anky won the prestigious silver medal, second only to the world famous, now deceased mare, Poetin (by the great Sandro Hit). In addition he has consistently won several Prix St Georges, and almost all of the stallion competitions in Holland. He also holds the title as the 2005 Dutch Small Tour Champion.
Painted Black’s sire is the fabulous Trakehner Keur stallion, Gribaldi who competes so successfully at Grand Prix level with Edward Gal. His dam a Keur sport mare is by the world famous, Olympic silver medallist and now deceased sire, Ferro known by many as the ‘Black Pearl’ of the Netherlands. Also to note, strengthening the dressage pedigree of Painted black was the success of both his dam Litchy and his grand dam Vrona who reached the highest level in dressage. From this damline has come the Z2 dressage horse Marona and too the licenced stallions Faunus, Gouverneur and Lukai W.
Grand Sire -- Gribaldi
Gribaldi was the 1995 champion of the stallion selections and 1996 champion of his stallion performance test and has been proclaimed a Keur stallion. He was Reserve Champion in the Pavo-Cup for four year old dressage horses.
Gribaldi is also the sire of Grand Prix standout Painted Black among many other international dressage stars. At the 2006 Zwolle Stallion Show Gribaldi was Champion of the Grand Prix ‘Kur to Music’ scoring 75.35%, and placed second in the Grand Prix class scoring 69.96% under the careful hand of Edward Gal. His noted son Painted Black was ridden by Anky Van Grunsven and placed 6th in the Grand Prix ‘Kur to Music’ class and 4th in the Grand Prix class scoring 67.88%.
